Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV), the “BEST PLACE TO ADOPT A PET”, seeks a Director of Human Resources to manage all phases of our personnel and employment programs including recruitment, benefits administration, worker's compensation, performance management, salary administration and more. Responsible for ensuring legal compliance in human resources matters. Member of the senior management team; will participate in the evolution of the organization's strategic plan and help develop and administer programs to achieve goals relating to this plan. The ideal candidate should possess strong human resources and leadership skills, excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, desire to provide a productive and positive work environment and ability to instill that desire in others, knack for conflict resolution, ability to be innovative, flexible and maintain a sense of humor. Must enjoy working for and around animals!! One of the "perks" of the job--you get to pet dogs, cats and rabbits!
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, with at least five year's human resources work experience. Knowledge of state and federal employment law.
